2025 Advent Calendar Day One!

Happy Holiday Season everyone! I've been avoiding Mini Barbieland for one very specific reason.

And that reason is, I could feel myself becoming obsessed with them (and I guess I'm not here for blind box toys, so two reasons). This year they've released an Advent Calendar and I just couldn't resist:

It doesn't hurt that none of the regular Barbie Advent Calendars really spoke to me this year. This calendar already cost me some additional money:

It was on sale for 5 dollars on Black Friday and I felt it worked well with the Advent calendar, especially since I don't think the calendar has a building like this. Although, it also comes part of a big set that I also want.... and I also want two more sets to go with it. (It begins!). I'm impressed with the house, it's a lot bigger than I was expecting, when I bought it I thought it would fit on that table easily with other things, but it's basically the size of the table. Luckily I have two tables.

Anyway, onto our calendar:

Our first door is hidden behind our tree, and what is in there?

A Christmas themed Barbie minifigure! She's really cute and I am impressed with the level of detail they can get in these. Some of these are based off of real dolls, but I don't think she is. Which is a shame, I like the outfit.

And she's already making herself at home!

See everyone for tomorrow!

Hello Dear Readers

 Hello Dear Readers,

Long time, no posts. 2025 sure has been... something. Some good, some bad, most bad. I hope everyone is still trucking along the best they can be. This sums up my 2025 so far:

I've been business as usual for the most part, but I am looking into making some changes for the better for the future. I've been working on finally getting the collection organized, it's been quite a long process with a long way to go. I got some new Ikea bookshelves and they've been set up and I have been working on getting dolls dressed and put into them. It's a slow process, but some progress is always a good thing. They're kind of a catch all with no real theme, but that will come with time. Here's some random pictures of the dolls on the shelves:

Snowman is a year round decor item,

it's a gourd made by an artist my Grandparents

knew that I found on eBay.

Japanese import. She's a Living Barbie made in Japan with brown hair,

these are most commonly found as redheads. She's the first brunette I've seen.

I've had Midge for a while, but she finally got her outfit this year!

Babs is new and this isn't her final outfit, but I wanted to get her safely on display so she's wearing this for now.

Very proud of her curls

I've started branching out into 80s Barbies and trying to collect the "iconic" ones to me. This collection is a little different because instead of dressing them in different outfits, I've been trying to put them back in their original outfits (when possible). Every few years I move my collection further and further into the next era. Usually when I've gotten the affordable wants from each decade I need to move into the next. I've gotten pretty lucky with this collection. I was able to get the Steffie faced AA Pretty N Pink Barbie. I also was able to get Golden Dream Christie at a very nice price. No pictures of her because I don't have her original outfit and trying to decide what she's going to wear. I've been bitten by the Steffie bug and added a lot of dolls with that face mold (but not the Barbie Style Deluxe Chaster Doll, that still eludes me!).

I've been enjoying educating myself on 80s Barbie and seeing what fits into my collection. We haven't started collecting anything 90s, but this has been a few years now, but I did have a small (okay, not so small) obsession for Totally Hair Barbie. I don't usually collect non-doll paraphernalia, but not for THB. Here is the current shrine to her:

I've slowed down on stuff for her (mainly because there isn't a lot), but always looking for more to add to the collection. I do plan on doing some more posting this month, but I just wanted to start with some updates on where things are right now.
